Hello,
In order to ensure that our students have access to instructional materials during the upcoming school closure due to coronavirus (COVID-19) we have prepared some resources for our students who are receiving speech therapy as documented in their Annual ARD paperwork.
With that being said, most of the students have had their annual ARD meeting to review their current IEP plan for their speech services. Copies of their annual ARD was sent home shortly after the meeting was conducted. In this paperwork you can reference the speech IEP (goals and objectives) to determine what resource you can use to target the student’s challenges. If your child has not had their annual ARD meeting for the 2019-20 school year, we will be contacting you to set up the ARD meeting via telephone conference within timeline.
All resources will be available on our district website at ogisd.net. Go to your student’s campus (Primary, Elementary, Jr High, etc.) and you will find all assignments under News & Announcements entitled, COVID-19 Speech Therapy Resources.

Vooks - This is a site that has animated story books but also has free coordinating lesson plans for the stories too. Parents can listen to the stories with their kids and then go through the lesson without ever having to print. This is a paid site but does have a one-month free trial that parents can take advantage of.
Epic - This site has digital books.
StorylineOnline - This is another animated book site but the books are read by celebrities that have accompanying plans and ideas for parents and teachers.
New2You - This site takes current events and makes them 'kid friendly' with supported visuals for the articles and activities. There are comprehension questions, supplemental worksheets, links to videos, a joke of the day and recipes. Families could do one activity a day and get some solid speech and language work in.
